A mythical denizen of the arboreal forests of the Pacific Northwestern United States, the sasquatch figure is created from witness reports and Native American legend at 7 ½” high with 18 points of articulation, and a woodland environmental base

For hundreds of years, native American folklore has whispered stories of a creature. A creature of flesh and spirit. A giant revered by the native tribes and forest creatures as brother; O’mah, Kushtaka, D’sonoqua, Genowska, Bukwas and later amongst the descendents of the settlers as the booger, skunk ape and bigfoot.

This line is something I’ve wanted to do for years. Through the formation of Creatureplica the opportunity has presented itself to execute it in the way I’ve always seen it. Based on witness reports, native American folklore and of course my own particular subjective spin and sculptural style. I’ve always disliked the murderous monster depiction of sasquatch. The majority of reports and alleged witness sightings have been of a shy retiring creature, so the sculpt reflects that, particularly in the face. The body type and fur color( and there will most likely be a few paint version of this, again based on common sighting data) is an amalgam of the Patterson-Gimlin footage creature proportions combined with the vast majority of visual descriptions, as well as my own personal vision; that of an extant North American great ape of the pongid line. One theory says a creature such as this could have traveled across the Bering land bridge as our ancestors did; an ape of asian extraction such as the orangutan, or perhaps Gigantopithecus. The largest primate ever known to have lived, described in the fossil record of mainland China by only teeth and jaw bones; an ape of significant similarity in size and proportion to the legendary sasquatch. Hence the reddish coloring, blackish skin and legs shorter proportionately than a human, while featuring a characteristic prevalent in only one species of modern primate; humans.

The legendary Dzu-Teh or Yeti, abominable Snowman of the peaks and frozen wastes of the Himalayas is depicted as in Tibetan myth and Sherpa sightings at 8 ¼” tall, with 19 points of articulation, and a frozen base of ice with a Himalayan tahr skull buried in the snow.

The Massive Himalayan Yeti made his debut in Cincinnati on March 22nd 2014.

A hybrid were-creature, the product of Axis experiments on a US infantrymen who haunts the Twin Tunnels and Devil’s Backbone of Ohio, looms at 8 ¾” high with 23 points of articulation, and a graveyard base featuring his own tombstone.

How The Horrorhound Legend Came To Be

A young American soldier named Harold Warren infiltrates Nazi Germany in 1944 with a secret mission to assassinate the Führer Adolf Hitler.  The second world war seems to be coming to a close, thanks to the Allied Forces, while Hitler’s Germany became increasingly desperate as they turned to the occult and bizarre experiments as a last ditch effort to win the war. The ill-fated US trooper’s mission is a failure as he is captured by SS officers deep behind enemy lines. Now in the hands of several diabolical Nazi doctors he is subjected to sadistic medical and occult experimentation before he succumbs to the several treatments, surgeries, and mutations intended to transform him into a supernatural killing machine. Soon after Harold’s death, his body is discovered and retrieved by US Army officers – found stitched together, mutilated and strapped to a table within the bombed out underground laboratory. His butchered body is shipped home for study, however, soon disappears from the infamous Wright-Patterson Air Force Base upon the first full moon. For decades since, sightings of a large mutilated dog- like zombie creature have been reported miles away in the Mount Airy forest area of Hamilton, Ohio. A believed haunted part of Mt. Airy known as the Twin Tunnels has played host to the largest amount of reported sightings, as well as a twisty stretch of road known as the Devils Backbone. Could this creature be the lost soldier transformed? Could the Nazi experiments have worked? One thing is known for sure – the Cincinnati area is home to the infamous creature known as the HorrorHound, pray you never cross his path for it might be the last time you do.
